In our digitalized world, we’re constantly being surrounded by technology. We complete assignments and run errands using different services and devices, be it work, study, or leisure, and sometimes, these tasks might even be quite time-consuming. Would it be possible to make the process a tad simpler?
This is where citizen development comes in – an easy-to-grasp approach to programming and application development. Citizen developers may not meet the demands for professional programmers, but they can still be quite resourceful in solving simpler problems relating to their own fields of interest.
In this course, we will dig deep into citizen development and explore the vast possibilities that such skills open up. Our focus will be on Microsoft Power Platform, a collection of services designed specifically for citizen developers and professionals alike.
We’ll review the following Power Platform services one by one, providing you with an easily understandable, yet comprehensive summary of each of the following: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, Power Pages, Power Virtual Agents, and AI Builder.
As we explore these services, we’ll also study the case of Yardability, an imaginary gardening specialist that has decided so smoothen their processes with Microsoft Power Platform.
This is the first course of the Microsoft Power Platform microdegree. By completing the whole degree (8 ECTS), you’ll gain all the foundational skills and knowledge you need to start developing, creating, and managing your own Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
After this course, you’ll have extensive knowledge of the possibilities and services offered by Microsoft Power Platform.
No programming skills or extensive knowledge about IT terminology is required in this course. If you’re interested in Microsoft Power Platform or citizen development, this course is for you!
It is recommended to complete the sections in order, starting from the first one.
The scope of this course is two European study credits (2 ECTS), and a pass/fail grading system is used. You must complete every assignment in order to pass the course. You can advance at your own pace and move around the course platform as you go – take your time to review from time to time and get the most out of your studies. Once you’ve completed the course, you will receive a course completion certificate and a LinkedIn sharable badge to show your new skills.
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a tool of the European Higher Education Area for making studies and courses more transparent. It helps students to move between countries and to have their academic qualifications and study periods abroad recognised. ECTS allows credits taken at one higher education institution to be counted towards a qualification studied for at another. ECTS credits represent learning based on defined learning outcomes and their associated workload. ECTS enhances the flexibility of study programmes for students. It also supports the planning, delivery and evaluation of higher education programmes. It is a central tool in the Bologna Process, which aims to make national education systems more comparable internationally. ECTS also helps make other documents, such as the Diploma Supplement, clearer and easier to use in different countries. ECTS has been adopted by most of the countries in the European Higher Education Area as the national credit system and is increasingly used elsewhere.
